SUMMER AND WINTER NEWS

Our long, hot summer is finally drawing to a close and it was a particularly interesting one, including a long trip through southern and south-western France, visiting towns which once featured regularly on our tours with ARLBT. Nimes, Beziers, Narbonne, Albi and Carcassonne, once sleepy southern towns where we performed in dusty, run-down theatres now boast brand new theatres, cultural centres and museums, as well as restored and renovated town centres. On the Cote d’Azur, the busy winter dance scene starts with the bi-annual Cannes Dance festival in November, and with performances in Monte-Carlo with the Monaco Dance Forum. For the Christmas season of the Ballets de Monte-Carlo, director Jean-Christophe Maillot is mounting a new production of …..”The Nutcracker”. In Nice, director Eric Vu An is responsible for a double bill of “Sylvia” and “Les Deux Pigeons” for the Ballet Nice Mediterranee. Christina will review all these performances for the DancingTimes.
